Triple Action Studios presents:
A madcap action/adventure comedy, “Follow the Monkey” is also a playful love letter to the movies — enlivened by elements of silent-film comedy and richly imagined cinematic Easter eggs. This wildly original story also explores themes of evolution, artificial intelligence and the meaning of family.
Logline: Desperate to save his family’s 1920s movie palace and make one great legacy film of his own, a Tarzan stuntman, his son, and their magical chimp become the accidental heroes of a real-life Hollywood blockbuster.
Follow the Monkey!
After they unexpectedly anger a deranged (failed screenwriter) supervillain and his evil AI sidekick, Link, Boy and Buddy manage to have a blast while being hunted by both cops and robbers.
Our heroes each have fascinating back stories. Boy and Buddy both become part of the Wilder family via hilariously unusual circumstances.
Conceived by John Breneman; screenplay by John Breneman and Matthew Sharlot.

John B bio
John Breneman (that’s me) is a lifelong journalist and literary prankster working in print, web, song, stage and film. My short film “Bicycle Time Traveler” appeared in the 2024 NH Film Festival. I am the author of the “A Man of Remarkable Restraint,” dozens of short stories, hundred of humor pieces and much more.

Triple Action Studios is a virtual creative studio I created to showcase my creativity.
Key projects include “Addicted Idol,” a sharp satire of reality TV, co-written with Chris Elliott. We did a staged reading at Hollywood’s McCadden Theatre in January 2026 (video).
Angelic voices battling personal demons. You gotta hit rock bottom … to make it to the top!
Journalist
I’ve penned over a million words about Portsmouth and the Seacoast during my three-decade career in newspapers. One of my favorite pieces is “History on the March in Market Square,” a quick jog through four decades (and centuries) of local history.
Humorsmith
Born with a pathological compulsion to crack wise, I was just a kid when I learned my DNA is riddled with the humor genome. Not surprisingly, my website is infested with humor. In fact, here’s a collection of funny stuff.
I also have a history of writing scathing political satire.
